Summer Show Super Saturation

Summer shows…man, I have a lot to say but I'm going to try and keep it short and semi-sweet. First of all anyone can have a summer event. Does that mean people will show up, not at all. Too many times, too many groups, too often want to do their rendition of a motorcycle show. These guys go to a successful show and get the notion they can do better. Can you say super saturation (sort of like the Shift Sock)? There is a lot more to hosting an event than something nice in a thong and a flashy flyer…well, maybe not. But whatever the case you may want to leave the event hosting to the Pro's.

I'm not trying to throw stone because my Camp has had event hosting in a couple of discussions before. Just hear me out, once you get every Tom, Dick, & Harriet doing shows it gets old quick. You stop having Major Events because people are more spread out, they get tired of spending every weekend at a show, attendance goes down for the well known events and here comes the beginning of the end to a good thing. Maybe try to make a good event better by co-hosting, if you really have something to add this may be the route to go. You can not "knock some other group out the box," business does not work that way. What you can do is ruin a few good events. Yeah, this is business.
I like a good show just as much as the next man, or woman. A good fish sandwich and a Pepsi. A little something nice in a thong, Damn! But too much of a good thing just isn't good. (Sorry for the cliche.)
